Make Oregon Business Friendly Again

From the gas pump to the grocery store and back home, Oregonians simply can’t afford more cost increases, inflation, and taxes from our elected officials. We have to advocate for our small businesses so that they can go back to fueling Oregon’s economy. Successful businesses lead to thriving communities, not only through the revenue they generate that keep our communities safe and our infrastructure humming, but through the needed jobs they provide.

We must make Oregon more business friendly again. This is an incredible place to live. It’s not hard to get people to come here, but we have to allow businesses to grow and thrive if we want them to stay.

Improve Education and Support Educators

Our schools in Oregon are nationally recognized for all the wrong reasons—low graduation rates and consistently poor reading scores. Despite record levels of spending, our state continues to rank near the bottom and taxpayers are right to expect better outcomes. We need to focus on accountability, classroom achievement, and empowering both parents and teachers — making sure we are funding our education system in a way that works.

As a former educator, I know how hard teachers work. I will always support our teachers and want to give them the training and resources needed to ensure our students are receiving the best education possible. We need strong standards and the tools to meet those standards.

Support our Farmers, Foresters and Agriculture

Growing up on a farm, I’ve seen firsthand how important our farmers and our ag producers are to Oregon’s economy. Our farmers, foresters, and ranchers are the backbone of our rural communities and a major driver of the state’s economy. They feed our families, steward millions of acres of working land, and pass down a tradition of hard work and self-reliance that reflects the best of Oregon values.

We need to protect our natural resources while also making sure family farms, timber workers, and agricultural businesses can continue to thrive for the next generation.

Restore Balance to Our Budget

Oregonians expect their government to live within its means just like working families and small businesses do every day. We can bring balance back to the budget by prioritizing core services, improving accountability, and cutting wasteful spending — not by asking taxpayers to shoulder more burdens. With responsible budgeting and a focus on economic growth, Oregon can meet its obligations while keeping our state affordable for families, farmers, and job creators.

Oregon does not have a money problem. We have a priority problem. We can bring balance back to our budget without raising taxes.
